Vertical Form Fill Seal Machine (VFFS)
For the VFFS machine, the film is fed vertically, forming the bag in an upright position. VFFS machines are particularly used for products that need to be packaged in bags, pouches, or sachets. Best for granular, powdery, or liquid products (e.g., snacks, rice, grains, liquid beverages, powders, paste, or sauce) as the vertical structure allows gravity to assist with the flow of products into the bags.
Typical Products: Snacks, coffee powder, pet food, grains, ketchup, tea, nuts, etc.

Working Principle of Form Fill Seal Machine
-
Forming the Package:
- Roll Stock Unwinding: The process begins with a roll of packaging material, typically made of plastic, laminate, or foil.
- Shaping: The material passes through a forming collar or mold that folds it into the desired shape.
- Sealing the Edges: The machine uses heat or pressure sealing to close the edges of the packaging material, creating a hollow bag or pouch.
-
Filling the Product:
- Product Feeding: The product to be packaged (liquid, powder, granular, or paste) is measured and dispensed through a filling system (e.g., auger fillers, volumetric fillers, or pump-based fillers).
- The product is filled into the partially formed package or tube.
-
Sealing and Cutting:
- Top and Bottom Sealing: The machine seals the filled package at the required intervals.
- Cutting: Once sealed, the machine cuts the packages apart, leaving individual finished units.
-
Output:
- The completed packages are discharged from the machine, and ready for secondary packaging or shipping.
